Mirick O'Connell Receives a Special Recognition Award from Attorney General

Worcester, Massachusetts - May 22, 2012 - Mirick O'Connell received a Special Recognition Award from Attorney General Martha Coakley for the firm's participation in the third annual "Legal Food Frenzy" for Massachusetts.

Over 70 legal organizations participated in this year's competition. The food collected has benefited the four Massachusetts food banks – the Greater Boston Food Bank, the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, the Worcester County Food Bank, and The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. These four food banks serve more than 800 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters that help feed hungry families across the state. Statewide, the Legal Food Frenzy raised the equivalent of more than 430,000 pounds of food, which will provide over 331,000 meals to people in need. Over the past three years, the Legal Food Frenzy competition has raised more than one million pounds of food and provided over 801,000 meals throughout Massachusetts.

Mirick O'Connell received the award for "Most Actual Food Collected by a Large Firm" and the award for "Most Raised Overall by a Large Firm in Worcester County."
