COMMERCIAL LENDING ATTORNEY 
For this position, we are seeking attorneys with a minimum of eight years of experience who are seeking a collaborative culture focusing on professional excellence.  Candidates must possess experience representing national, regional, and local commercial lending institutions in secured, unsecured and other transactions including general commercial, asset-based, real estate, and construction financing, issuance of credit enhancements in bond transactions, participations and intercreditor transactions.

CORPORATE ATTORNEY
For this position, we are seeking attorneys with a minimum of eight years experience who are seeking a collaborative culture focusing on professional excellence.  Candidates must possess experience in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, capital markets, and/or corporate finance.

Each candidate for the above two positions, must have the ability to manage and delegate matters, excellent drafting and verbal communication skills, strong academic credentials, practical problem-solving ability and the ability to interact effectively with clients are required. ELDER LAW ATTORNEY
We are seeking an elder law attorney to join the team in our Worcester and Westborough offices.  Responsibilities will include preparing and filing applications for MassHealth and other government benefit programs for elders, asset restructuring and related issues, preparing related estate planning and other asset protection documents, developing a thorough grasp of elder law issues, and making presentations to groups of elders at senior centers and in other venues.

Organizational skills necessary to manage the MassHealth application process are essential, as are presentation skills necessary to present elder law-related issues to groups of seniors in a clear and engaging manner.  Related experience is preferred.  Travel throughout Massachusetts.  We provide a dynamic, team-oriented environment, excellent support, and competitive compensation and benefits.  If you are interested in working with a great team in an expanding practice, we invite you to submit your resume and a writing sample in confidence.

REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY
We are seeking a junior real estate attorney to join the Land Use Group in our Westborough office.  Experience in commercial conveyancing, leasing, municipal, and land use permitting preferred, but not required.

Current Opportunities - Professionals

Litigation and Intellectual Property Legal Administrative Assistant
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, in our Boston office. Previous litigation and/or IP experience in a law firm is preferred.  Responsibilities for this position include working closely with attorneys, paralegals and other legal administrative assistants to provide administrative support in the areas of document production, calendar/file maintenance, time entry, and scheduling meetings with clients.  The Firm seeks candidates who are team-oriented, quality-focused, and have a strong attention to detail, and who posses outstanding computer, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.  Competitive compensation and benefits.  We are not accepting resumes from search firms for this position.

Entry-Level Associates

An attorney's development and training do not end with law school. At Mirick O'Connell, we recognize that for many new attorneys law school did more to pique their interest in the law than to provide a clear-cut decision about their desired practice area. For this reason, first-year associates spend their first nine months rotating through the firm's major practice groups. They not only gain valuable broad-based experience in multiple areas of specialization but are better able to decide on an area of specialization for which they are well suited.

During the first year of practice and beyond, our attorneys are provided with exceptional training through educational opportunities both within and outside the firm, as well as regular formal and informal guidance and feedback.

We hire attorneys who are capable of assuming responsibility early. Accordingly, our first-year associates do far more than conduct library research and review documents. Summer Associate Program

Mirick O'Connell is proud of its highly effective summer associate program. Our goal is to provide summer associates with substantive work from each of our practice areas and with as many attorneys as possible. Typically, more than fifty percent of our attorneys work with summer associates on assignments and training, with the workflow overseen by a coordinating attorney. In most cases the summer associates work directly with the assigning attorney, and can expect timely and constructive feedback. The summer program also includes opportunities to observe in the courtroom, at the closing table and at client meetings. Social functions and regular lunches provide excellent opportunities for summer associates to become better acquainted with the firm's attorneys and with life at the firm.
