December 5, 2013

Worcester, Massachusetts - Mirick O’Connell is proud to announce that the Labor Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston will be honoring Attorney D. M. Moschos, a senior partner in the Firm’s Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Group, with the 2013 Cushing-Gavin Labor-Management Counsel Award at the Labor Guild’s annual awards dinner on Friday, December 6, 2013.

The Labor Guild is an organization of labor-management professionals that seeks to promote cooperation and integrity in employee relations matters. Each year, the Labor Guild salutes four labor relations professionals in Massachusetts for their commitment to labor-management relations, professional competence, moral integrity and concern for the community.

Launched in 1967 and named after one of Boston’s most esteemed Archbishops, Richard Cushing, the awards program aims to:

  • provide well-deserved recognition to individual practitioners for excellence and singular service in labor-management affairs;
  • offer both inspiration and education to the general labor-management community by showcasing outstanding contributors;

As stated by Bob Kilroy, the Chair of Mirick O’Connell’s Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Group, “We are so pleased that the Labor Guild has chosen to honor D. with this year’s Management Counsel Award. The Labor Guild’s recognition caps off D.’s exemplary career as one of the foremost labor-employment practitioners within the Commonwealth. Through his dedication to excellence and tireless work ethic, D. has built a thriving Labor Group at Mirick O’Connell from a single attorney to a staff of eleven attorneys and three paralegals. I and his colleagues at Mirick O’Connell could not be happier and join the Labor Guild in congratulating D. as this year’s Management Counsel award recipient!”

Attorney Moschos has personally conducted more than 600 labor negotiations, including numerous negotiations involving teachers, manufacturing workers, hospital employees, and public employees. Attorney Moschos is also an adjunct instructor in collective bargaining at Clark University. The Diocese of Worcester, St. Thomas Society, has awarded the Society’s Ecumenical award to Attorney Moschos.
