Elizabeth Greene to Receive Heart of Gold Award

October 7, 2013

Worcester, MA - September 25, 2013 - Mirick O'Connell is proud to announce that the American Heart Association will be presenting its "Heart of Gold" award to Elizabeth L. B. Greene at the AHA's inaugural Heart of the Commonwealth celebration on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Tower Hill Botanic Garden.

The Heart of Gold award is presented each year to a member of Central Massachusetts' community who has enhanced the quality of life in the region and who has played a significant role in advancing the mission of the American Heart Association.

Elizabeth's commitment to the American Heart Association began more than a decade ago when she founded the Central Massachusetts Division Board of Directors.  She has been a dedicated advocate for the organization serving as a "You're the Cure" member, on advocacy and health initiatives committees and participating in the lobby days in Washington, D.C.  She previously co-chaired the Central Massachusetts Go Red for Women event and has participated in the Heart Walk with the Mirick O'Connell team for years.  She served as a member of the Northeast Affiliate and the Founders Affiliate Boards of Directors and is the immediate past Chair of the American Heart Association's Central MA Division Board of Directors.  In 2003, Elizabeth was honored as Northeast Affiliate Division Volunteer of the Year and in 2011 she received the Heart of the Mission award.
