    Roger has extensive experience in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry and medical devices. He has been involved in various aspects of patent practice, including client counseling, licensing and agreements, and preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology fields. Prior to practicing law, Roger was a member of the faculties of Rush Medical College and the University of Illinois at Chicago.


    Representative Matters

    • Assisted a medical device manufacturer with in-licensing intellectual property from a university

    • Developed a portfolio of U.S. and foreign patents for a publicly-traded, innovative drug developer, based on a therapeutic platform that has been licensed by a pharmaceutical company

    • Assisted a non-profit's licensing office with strategic development and positioning of an international patent portfolio, based on a university's small-molecule research program, for pharmaceutical partnership

    • Represented a client in obtaining patent protection for a hand-held medical device

    • Assisted a client in obtaining patent protection for methods of using medical lasers in cosmetic surgery

    • Represented clients in obtaining patent protection for novel drug-delivery devices and drug-delivery compositions useful for treating conditions ranging from movement disorders to circulatory problems

    • Represented a research institution in obtaining U.S. and foreign patent protection for a method for treating chronic rejection of transplanted organs

    • Represented a university in obtaining U.S. and foreign patent protection for new classes of anti-anxiety drugs that have fewer side effects
